NOTE: This guide works best with all 7 heirloom +exp pieces. Heirloom items are bugged not to give you stats, but the exp bonus works just fine. For this reason, an all cloth set works great.

So, let's get started. Some parts work for Alliance as well, but I haven't written the guide with that in mind. I'll flag [H] and [A] for each level bracket for which applies.
Start - Level 10 through 22 [H] [A]
-Go to the Eternal Gate and get the buff (Tools -> Buff Me).
-Port to the mall
-Go talk to the Horde or Alliance Herald
-Pick up and complete the quests given to talk to each profession trainer, finishing with Archaeology (reward also includes +50g).
-After completing the quest chain, use the Eternal Gate to teleport to the City of Dalaran.
-Enter the Dalaran Sewers (leave the place you teleported in and go left)
-Look for the "Washed up Mage" (wowhead link: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=32516)
-Complete the quest he has available (instant EXP)
Start - Level 22 through 24 [H]
-Go to the Eternal Gate (use .start to get there faster) and teleport to Silvermoon City
-Fly from Silvermoon City to Tarren Mill (Hillsbrad Foothills)
-Go to the center of the town, where the ghost lady is and complete the quest she has for you (instant EXP)
Start - Level 24 through 30 [H] [A]
(for Alliance, I think you can do something similar but I do not know these quests off hand)
-Go to Orgrimmar's 'The Drag' area and find the cooking daily quest giver Marogg (wowhead link: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=42506)
-Pick up the following quests and complete them:

------Careful, This Fruit Bites Back
------Stealing From Our Own
------Stealing From Our Own
-Turn in the quests
Start - Level 30 through 40 [H] [A]
(This technically works for alliance as well, as far as the AoE farming goes)
-Teleport to Silvermoon City and fly to Andoral in the Western Plaguelands. At each of the towers, there are large groups of skeletons that only have 200hp and deal 1 damage. AoE farm these until about level 35.
-At level 35, you have two choices: 1) Go back to the flight path at Andorhol and pick up the quest from the undead alchemist which will give you a grenade. Use this grenade to continue AoE farming the skeletons. This grenade works on ALL mobs inside Andorhol. 2) Head over to Dustwallow Marsh and complete the quests Krog has available.
(Alternative Dustwallow Route for Horde)
Start - Level 40 through 47 [H] [A]
-Pick any zone that will give you exp and do a few quests. Feralas and Dustwallow marsh work best, but anything works.
Start - Level 47 through 52 [H] [A]
(this is the part where you don't have to work at all for exp. Just run and collect.)
-Fly to the Whispering Grove in Felwood
-Ride north on the road and look to your left for a big opening with a green circle
-Talk to Feronas Sindweller and complete all of the instant EXP quests he has (wowhead link: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=47923)
Start - Level 52 through 58 [H] [A]
-Fly to Gadgetzan
-Walk over to the big arena in the center
-Complete the instant exp quests offered by Dr. Dealwll (wowhead link: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=39034)
Start - Level 58 through 60 [H] [A]
-Get to the Blasted Lands (fastest way: Teleport to Shattrath, fly to the most eastern part of Hellfire, enter the portal to go back to Azeroth's Blasted Lands)
-Pick up the quest "Through the Dark Portal"
-Complete the quests in this chain until you're 60
Start - Level 60 through 67 [H] [A]
-Fly to Gadgetzan once more
-Run south to the Cavern of Times
-Run all the way down the tunnels, until you see the main chamber and the giant hourglass
-Go to the dragon standing on the rim of the hourglass
-Complete all the ring quests he has available. Instant EXP.
Start - Level 67 through 71 [H] [A]
-Teleport to Shattrath
-Fly to Nagrand
-Go to the Ring of Blood in Laughing Skull Ruins
-Complete the instant EXP arena quests offered by Gurgthock (wowhead link: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=18471) and grab an appropriate weapon (you'll need it to kill 1 single mob soon)
Start - Level 71 through 75 [H] [A]
-Fly to the Swamp of Sorrows or somewhere close by
-Run over to Deadwind Pass, go to the southern region where Karazhan is
-Complete all the instant EXP ring quests offered by Archmage Leryda (wowhead link: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=18253)
-There will be a LOT of rings in your inventory... Sorry, but it's worth the exp!
Start - Level 75 through 78 [H] [A]
-Teleport to Dalaran and then fly to Wyrmrest Temple in Dragonblight
-Go to the top of the tower and complete the instant EXP quest offered by Chromie (wowhead link: http://www.wowhead.com/npc=27856)
-Fly to the Argent Stand in Zul'Drak
-Complete the instant EXP quest offered by Commander ... something.
-Pick up the quests from the Hexxer troll (make sure to use the quest item he gives you!)
-Fly north to complete the quests
-If you're not 78, fly to the next base in Zul'Drak to the east and pick up any quests you want. There are several available that require no killing, no gathering, just talking.

Start - Level 78 through 81 [H] [A]
-Fly to the Argent Tournament Grounds in Icecrown
-Complete all the turn-in based quests offered in your faction's tent. "A Champion Rises" or something like that.
Start - Level 81 through 83 [H] [A]
NOTE: IF YOU LOG OUT AND BACK IN AT THIS POINT, YOUR 1-80 HEIRLOOM GEAR WILL NOT WORK. YOU WILL STILL HAVE YOUR HELM, CLOAK, PANTS, AND 1 RING THAT YOU CAN EQUIP.
-Go to the Mall and talk to your faction's Herald again
-Pick up the quest to go to Hyjal
-Go to Hyjal and complete as many quests as it takes to hit 83. This will also give you a chance to pick up Cata greens which will help a lot for leveling.
Start - Level 81 through 85 [H] [A]
-Go to Uldum
-Complete quests until 85
My fastest 1-81 was 1hr35 minutes total played, which includes about 20 minutes of banking items before ever starting to level him. Enjoy!
