Blizzard had the same issue, only there were much (much) more accounts.
Some hackers made fake emails. They made a message that looked exactly like an official Blizzard Entertainment message, and tricked many players. The said that Blizzard needs to verify their accounts (or so i read, and received spam messages from Blizzard) so they could "secure" them, so every player had to give away his/her username and password. Every player lost their account this way. Because i had a Blizzard account i received a lot of spam messages about this, but because i've been inactive for years they closed my account less than a year ago. lol
If your tips are set on in game, Blizzard mentions that they would never ever ask for a player's username or password and that players shouldn't "exchange" their accounts with others. So i'm afraid that the players made this possible by their-selves, and that the staff can't do anything about it, accept warn not to do so. ;/

The account name was cbngl the characters where Chyssiani, Saphora ,etc but like I said its an old issue for us.
All of her friends and guild members put those characters into ignore list because of what happen just saying.

As I said old issue I dont wanna dig up the past just asking.

btw her rl name is Chy lawl not the account.

I remember this case, this WAS a case of account sharing gone bad.

As I said before this account was never shared nor was the account information given to anyone not even to "me" her neighbor/friend . She is aware and fully understands the "do not share" part that was the reason why we complained, the part was that the account was just plain hacked that's all . Well "we" ( Chy and her friends) just hopes that the account was locked for good that's all .

Past is past so she is moving on with new account .

A character named Mezan on alliance side from Redemption has been blowing myself and my wife's accounts in private messege begging and asking to trade accounts with me recently. Saying they wish to trade a pally for a mage....why the hell would I hand out a mage with 100 dollars worth of donation gear for some non-donor pally because they wanna play a mage or a priest and druid for that matter. Anyone stupid enough to expect payment or rights for a fair trade is asking for it and deserves what they get.

Further more I admit I have the access to an account of a player who no longer plays here and decided I was the person she'd give the rights to. I do not use this account and never will and have no desire to. Keep these examples in mind people, it's not worth it.

We do not go out looking for people that are sharing, so no.

It becomes our problem when it becomes a problem between the people sharing.

We have had situations where a wife changed the info on her hubby, and he was just SOL because it is against our TOS.

Best thing to do is Just Ignore them atall dont even tell your friends account info when u tarde people u think u will not be scammed and other person who is trading is wishing to scam the person so when he gets scammed soon the scammed person is crying beside admin telling that his account got hacked and telling he didnt tell him account info

I wish I could transfer my character to another account. That way I would at least be able to use my vote points and get VIP items. But sadly nothing can be done about my account since its not even showing my characters on the website. =[

Something else I would like to add to this. NEVER hand out your password even to the GM when asking account questions. I have told players this time and time again, we may ask for your account name, but never your password. We can check your account, we are not logging in to your account. Giving a character name is usually enough to find your account.

Don't sell/trade/borrow your account, You'll probably never get it back, you dont know that person, he's just another 'random' who sees a nice geared account, he can act nice all he wants, but keep in mind:
Winning something, needs a lot of trust, so he'll act kind, and really nice, then asks you : Hey bud, can I try your character once?
Scenario's:

1.You are really retarded in a sad way, you give him the account, get hacked never play the characters again.
2.You give him the account, 'You guys are sharing the account now', He gets angry, or mad at you for some 'random' reason, changes password,e-mail, and you're screwed,
3.He promises you, that you can play his account afterwards, you think : Woow cool! I'm in man! and the things on the previous steps happen,

Now thats how it goes wrong,
Here is what you in fact should do,

1.Tell him to gtfo and never talk to him again ( Thats a really random thing that I personally wouldn't say, but well it helps, trust me!

2. Tell him kindly to never ask you things like that again, and that you won't give him your account information.

I really hope this helps some people out there, DO NOT GIVE AWAY YOUR ACCOUNT INFORMATION.

And trust me, the one who hacks your account doesnt give a fuck about it, so don't Q_____Q at Eternal's
GM's/Chypher/Staff, if give away your account by yourself, then I really hope you won't get helped, I don't respect stupidness, aspecially after reading <<<<<<<<
