Crashes/Missing Spells • Eternal-Wow!

Ok so I know everyone is pissed

. Here is the story... A GM that I have known for a while wanted to come back on Staff. I needed help with the database and I know he was good at it so I gave him access. I told him he wasn't going to get higher GM access because he didn't deserve it. Instead, he deleted all the spells from everyone and rage quits. He has been banned from the server, the ventrilo, AND the website. I kicked him off the FTP server before he deleted ALL of my backups. Unfortunately the latest backup I had was from a week ago. So I restored everyone's accounts, but unfortunately some of your characters might not be there, or updated all the way. There is nothing I can do at this point. I am sorry.

If you have donated for an item, please email me and I will get you your item back.

hmm well im glad its over now :) time to get back to the server I have fell in love with :P

p.s: do ya want to store a extra copy of backups on an external machine? I am willing to hold a copy just in case something happens in the future like this.

We're already preparing an automated system for backing up so this doesn't happen again

Oh well, it happend not much we can do about it now. Thank god that there was a back up else a lot of players left.

Thanks FIRADESUNNA for the offer but no one else is getting database access I have things backed up on the server box, my computer, AND external hard drive. I learned from my mistakes

hehe well what my plan was didnt require database access :) I was saying you could just email me a copy of the backup every week or so as I have a lot of un-needed space xD

ugh. i just started on this server, so all my chars got deleted, but this is my favorite server by far, so I am going to stay :)

FIRADESUNNA, I know you didn't mean database access, but right now I'm having some trust issues on actually how much access my Staff has to things.

heres an idea :) only the 2 owners should have database access, if any of the other admins wanna add something then they can make it in SQL and then upload it onto a site or email it to you for you to add it to the database :)

you may need to wait about 5 minutes, also check the top left side of the page to check both the realm and world server is up :)

Wow...that sucks hard.But it's Funserver though so you dont need to spend 1 year on one char.
