As many of you have realized, the 3.3 patch was released to the public back in early December. The 3.3 patch contains a lot of new content such as the Icecrown Instance where you can finally fight the Lich King, plus much more. Our core does not currently support this patch, and it will not for awhile (so do not ask). Judging by previous experiences and how long it took 3.2 to be supported...let's just say its going to take some time. There is no estimated time, no real-time progress, it will be ready when it is ready.
Read below to determine which scenario you are in:
If you are still at 3.2 but you keep getting an automatic updater, and you want to get rid of it, here is how:
-Find your WoW Icon on your Desktop
-Right-Click that WoW icon
-Click on Properties
-Make sure you are looking at the shortcut tab
-Find the Target Line, by default it will have the location of your WoW and in the end it will have ...launcher.exe
-delete JUST launcher.exe and input Wow.exe
-Save Changes
*Now it will simply start up the game without going through the blizz Downloader. If you want to update, simply go to your wow folder, and find the WoW icon that is marked as "launcher"
If you already updated to 3.3 then you are out of luck. Sorry, you'll have to wait...
Just Kidding, heres how:
-Go into your C drive and find the location of your WoW folder. If you are having trouble finding it, right Click on your WoW icon, go to properties, and follow the target line. (its different for some people)
-Once navigated into your WoW folder, find the Data Folder.
-You will see patch.MPQ and for some, patch-2.MPQ (it may be marked differently since i have not updated to 3.3)
-Delete the patches
-Once the patches are deleted, run the repair
-The repair will repair your WoW then it will automatically begin downloading. The repair application is in your WoW folder. The same folder you find the "data" folder, the launcher.exe, etc. Its simply labeled as "repair"
-Once it patches to 3.2.2a, stop the update, and follow the first part of this tutorial to prevent updating.
**UPDATE!!!** It seems that once you patch all the way to 3.2.0, it automatically skips the patches in-between and downloads straight to 3.3.0.
What you have to do is, once you finish downloading 3.2.0, stop the update to 3.3. You then have to find the individual patches (3.2.2 and 3.2.2a, try googling them) and install them manually.
*Note- I know that blizzard sometimes integrates multiple patches into one patch. If that is the case, you will have to individually patch your WoW until 3.2.2a by downloading the separate patches off a website. It's time consuming, but it isn't hard.
There you go, any questions, leave on here
