We apologize for all of the issues today. Today the perfect storm was brewed and tested our systems under an emergency and we found our setup to be lacking. Our webserver went down and although the game servers were up, the DNS pointer to the game servers is on the webserver and because that was down, it took the ability to access the gameservers with it, affectively bringing Eternal entirely down.

Rest assured that we are putting in measures to insure this will never happen again. If you suffered any losses of donations or other issues, please submit a ticket. (As usual, all fraud attempts will end in a ban.)

Update: The issue that brought down our game servers when the web server was down has now been resolved and cannot happen again.

Sounds like you guys had a blast. ^_^;

Heard about the storm from a friend and figured that was why the site/login server crashed. Glad things are up and running again, however. Maybe I'll get my voter's item now. ^_^;

Ok, so here is the first of many steps we are taking to make sure this doesn't happen again:

We have moved the DNS to a third party. The third party specializes in DNS services and has servers all over the world. Either server can go down and DNS will continue to be served. Everything as far as our players is concerned will not appear to change.

The difference that this does cause is even with a website outage, our realms will be connectable. Our realms remained up but were unconnectable due to the DNS being hosted on the webserver.

We will be making more changes in the near future.
