I rather play on a realm that got working code. Before focusing on something else.

this is positive feedback, its needed. I know how it is. Been running DAoC mmorpg server myself.

I'm the one who does most of the work on the site, like was said before, Our bottleneck is not manpower in general but in C++ developers.

We have different people with different skillsets working on different tasks. If we were to have one person (myself) stop working on the site to try and do a bugfix on something I don't play or understand it would be a complete waste of my talents.

Ofcourse buddy, i understand that. What i ment was that i would rather see a fully working realm first. And then you can launch how many new realms you like, since it will be fully working. A good chainreaction. If you launch one realm and finnish 92% on it, leaving some instances, talents and classes not completely fixed. Opening another will have the same issues. That will end in unfocused chaos. That was my point. Thats how we did it in DAoC, put really hard work to get everything to work. So everybody was pleased. And when its close to 100% it will be become very popular very fasy, will spread like a fire. didnt say you should do c++ coding if your talent are webdesign. Can be my english. ^^ :)
I know that you guys put up alot of freetime and work. What i ment was it would be better to put all effort on one thing than having alot of unfinnished projects. hehe, i know the "hurray" feeling when it goes right, but the satisfaction among players isnt as high when things are bugged and so on.
Keep the good work up!

If we were to do it your way, 90% of our staff would not be needed because there is nothing they can do to fix the C++ issues.

Make 30+ people sit there doing nothing while 5-6 people fix things that the others cant help with?? really?

Great job on the server, I love how the horde main base is!

But... Why do I see a great reduction on eternal population coming... just my guess...

Hey Mattmeck.
Na i think you misunderstood me. My question is set on the focus (quality) of Eternal.
Ofcourse your GMs can still help players, and hijack hackers, help with transfers etc.
Webmaster do his thing and so on. Not what i ment.
I think its great that you expand and so, great work and engagement.
But my ¿ is why you dont focus more on fixing the classes, talents, styles, spells, glyphs, to work 100% And instances, add the rest of the Arena's.
Cause if you open a new realm. The listed will still be as previous realm's.
If you fixed all from the start. Then all new realms you open would be flawless also.
hehe sorry for disturbing. Im just openminded. dont hate me! xD

Everything you asked about is professional level C++ coding, which there is a lacking of all over, and most of them we are waiting on Trinity Core themselves to fix.

We have a few C++ devs and they do what they can, but a "simple" fix can takes days to do. We decided that we shouldn't just stop everything, and should do what we can. Bringing up new realms has nothing to do with C++, so while the C++ people are doing their thing others are doing theirs.

Remember, as one issues is fixed in C++ it gets fixed on every realm not just one. So it doesn't matter how many realms are up.

We have never stopped recruiting C++ developers, and never will. We are more frustrated of the state of things than any players is.

Hey Mattmeck, Your post makes me think though,
and I come up with the question: why the whole trinity emu?
as far as I know it's known as the worst (most bugged) emu that there is,
while mangos etc has a load more properly working classes, and instances.

Trinity is the least buggiest of all the different cores, hands down.

It also supports a much larger player base than the other cores. meaning more players with the same box and BW usage.

ArcEMU is probably the worst emulator IMO.
Trinity is a fork of Mangos so it carries the stability and features as well. The Trinity developers spend more time fixing things while the Mangos developers just spend time trying to make the existing "behind the scenes" code perfect.

I posted a reply this afternoon pertaining to not being able to get exalted with Horde expedition because most all of the quests are bugged. What happened to my post?

Without dispute, ArcEmu was the king of 2.4.3 BC servers, and Trinity is the champ in 3.x Lich servers. ArcEmu started really failing a year and a half ago, and only recently got a productive team again. There's just too many bugs. Mangos is starting to make a comeback, but trust me, as someone who's run all three for servers, I used Arc until 20 months ago, and switched to Trinity when the writing was on the wall.

Cataclysm may reset the playing field. Whichever emu rises to the top, will be the one we use. Until then, Trinity reigns supreme and we stick with it, with our own modifications.

ahh alrighty,

thought that trinity was kinda crappy since of the following reasons:

-loads of other servers have better scripted classes(pet classes mostly)
-loads of other servers got more raids scripted than here(in wotlk raids no single boss is working fully here)
-did some research about emu's and read like everywhere trinity bashing, with the only good point being mass amounts of players.

but guess I'm wrong if both of you say that trinity owns at wotlk ^_^
still kinda sad though that some things dont work on here which worked pre-tbc on the private server I hosted :/ (warlock pets for instance)

Is there any way to get Wrathful in the server, or just by voting we end up having the best gear available :S
Also, what about BG's and Arena, true pvp. Are they supported or Arena's are useless just like in Redemption?
