As the Eternal community continues to grow we find ourselves looking for more staff members. I have seen a lot of questions about what it takes to become a GM and what their job is. SO here is a brief description.
We look at the following when considering an application.
1. Age, must be 18 or older.
2. Time spent in the community. People really need to be around for a few weeks to get to know the community and how it functions.
3. Time played. We are looking for people who are going to be active and involved.
4. Effort on the application. We don’t expect a book, but one liners show people just don’t care.
5. Experience. This doesn’t weight that heavily, we can train people, but some experience is always nice.
6. Microphone. This is a requirement.
7. Other things. I am not going to tell everything we look into, otherwise everyone would have the perfect application.



What is a GM’s job?
As a GM we are the face of the Eternal WOW staff. Players see us first. This also means we get all the abuse when the players get mad. We are the buffer between the Development team and the general population. Every ticket does not need an Administrator to look at it, and every person that thinks something is bugged does not need to talk to a Developer. We help where we can point others to where they should be posting and passing on the issues that need to be addressed by someone else.

GM’s are directly involved in helping decide what direction the servers are going to move in, and we assist in testing new content. While the Developers code and the Administrators spawn and add content, us GM’s are out there helping the players and making sure that as many people as possible are happy with the way things are.

The staff works well together, and is a blast to work with. If you have any interest and feel you meet the requirements, apply (account tab, apply for GM) and give it a shot.

the way i see it, age doesnt matter, you can be over 18, and still be a lil douche pothead, who does stupid things in his life and wastes it, and you call that mature? its not like when you turn 18, bam! yuhr instantly become mature, No you're not, you still have no job, no wife, no kids.

All I see in your post is criticism. Being slanderous in a post is a clear sign of immaturity.
Having a wife (partner, de facto relationship, whatever), children and stable job isn't a requirement for maturity. I'm never having children, and I don't like the idea of a "life partner". I still feel as though I'm mature.
I believe having a competant mind and life experiences is what makes up maturity.
This validates the age requirement.

I'd like to apply, but I don't own a microphone. Nor do I have any experience.
I play quite frequently, and because I'm Australian, I'm on most time others aren't. Night-shift, woohoo.

Tenji, I'm sorry to say that your post by itself is pure immaturity and one of the reason why we don't hire anyone under the age of 18 (especially 13). Let me break it down for you shall I?
You are stuck in the fact in assuming that WE think that anyone above the age of 18 is mature and anyone below the age of 18 is immature. In fact, I know that's not true. We can have immature 30 year olds, and mature 15 year olds. So why the age requirements? Because it is also known that finding a mature individual above the age of 18, is much more common than finding a mature individual under the age of 18. We are going by statistics and reasoning, not by assumption and unknown variables. You see, we don't have the time and effort to simply accept every GM app, and determine on our own standards what's mature or not. It's simply not realistic for us to do so. By restricting the age, this makes our job a whole lot easier.
Did we say that there is some magical fairy that makes you mature once you are 18? No absolutely not, it is a life long process, and as stated earlier, the chances of finding a mature 18+ year old, is much greater than finding a mature individual under the age of 18. You claim you meet ALL of the requirements, yet you say you are only 13? Isn't one of our requirements being the age of 18? So in all technicality, you truly don't meet ALL of the requirements, now do you?

Well I have been involved in the administration of many online communities and I would like to say that my perssonal expirience points that older people are much more mature, responsible, show much more proffessionalism and are much more willing to help other people. I always prefere to work with older people. No offence to younger ones but thats the harsh reality. I'm not much more older then some of the posters above, but I know what I'm saying so ..

PS: Dont flame me I wont apply for a GM. I'm so busy - working, visiting the university and I don't have enough free time even for playing not to mention answering tickets. ))

i teh failed on my apply 6 months ago when itrough that u can aplly for gm whit any age. i am 17 and soon it will be18so i g ess i will apply :D:D

jeez.. the age is what it is, don't QQ over it, if you don't like it, then too bad. You can meet the requirements and not be 18, BUT they want you to be 18 nonetheless.

Got time for playing all the time atm. But when i start on job / school or whatever im gonna do i can still play but just after the work/school thing.
