With the huge growth that eternal is facing we will be migrating our realms from our old hardware (1 server) to two new servers. The old server will then be re-purposed for smaller realms and development.

- Specifications of the new servers (2)
1x - 6 Core - Intel(R) Xeon(R) CPU X5650 @ 2.67GHz (Board has another empty socket available for quick expansion)
8x - 15K RPM (6Gbps) 300GB SAS Hard Drives (RAID 6) (Space for another 6 drives available for quick expansion)
24GB DDR3 1333 ECC RAM (24GB) (Space for another 24GB of ram for quick expansion)
1x - DELL H700 RAID CARD (HUGE HDD PERFORMANCE BOOST!)

- Specifications of the old server (1) - This server will be used for smaller realms.

6x 10K RPM (3Gbps) 300GB SAS Hard Drives (RAID 10)
3x - 8GB DDR3 1333 ECC RAM (24GB) (Space for another 24GB of ram for quick expansion)
1x - Dell Perc 6/i RAID CARD


We will keep you updated as we plan to make these changes.

seems like a waste of money to me, briefly reading the specs you should have gotten SSD hardisc and i don't know if you EVER need any more than 4GB RAM but if MEMORY is what is being used here you should get MORE and FASTER stuff like 24GB 2000 DDR3 Tri-Channel................IF at all possible should look to get an AMAZING cooling system, and overclock the CPU.

SSD Hard Drives will die in a month with the number of Writes per second that the database server hits the drives with. 4GB of RAM is a playtoy. A single realm server side eats that easily.

RAM is fast enough. Cooling systems are for desktops. Server's don't need epic leet water cooling.

So, I'm sure we've invested wisely.

ram is very important^^ 24 gb is just fine and enough

the sas drives are fast enough,and they wont be damaged that fast as a ssd

btw^^the 6 sas drives alone cost more than 1,200 dollars,if not way more^^
