I'm sure many of you are curious as to what exactly happened earlier today and I thought I should clear some things up and tell you what really happened.

One of our developers who already had GM access in the server decided he did not want to be a part of the staff anymore. Instead of simply leaving; he decided that abusing his powers was the best way to quit. He spawned a lot of mobs, spammed the announcement system, and used GM powers to kill random players.

To clear things up, we did not get hacked. The staff member was removed, all of his accounts were banned, and his access to this server has been revoked. Everything is back to normal.

We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused and we will be sure to be more careful on who we bring on to the staff in the future.

Hope this not destroy the reputation of the server.
Well at least you banned him that's good.
Just make sure all is secured and no holes that he/she might find.

He was a game developer. He had no access to any data stored on the website. All payment data, user data, and passwords are stored on the Website encrypted. The only method of remote access is from the website to the game server. No data can be retrieved for the website from the game server.

DO NOT UPDATE! You must have beta patches or alpha patches enabled because that is the alpha build for cataclysm.
