New Launcher!

#1 by HeXagon » Mon Sep 27, 2010 6:53 pm

Meet the Eternal-WoW! Launcher v2.0.2 - Click to Download

Props to the original creators of the Launcher Cyph3r and Batzartraz. I have taken over development of the launcher and have added some features!

  • It is universal. A single copy of the Eternal-WoW! launcher can have an unlimited number of realm lists (even for other servers and retail) and each realm list can have a different WoW installation folder.
  • Completely New Interface. The new interface is smoother, easier on the eyes, and color coded buttons make it easy to find what you are looking for.
  • Run from Tray: Want to quickly be able to launch WoW? The Launcher can run from the tray and with two clicks you can be playing WoW!
  • Automatic Updating: The application will automatically check for updates. It will prompt you to upgrade if we release a new version!
  • Easy Installation. The days of copying and right clicking are OVER. The new pre-packaged installer checks for any requirements and has an auto-update system.
  • Quick Fixes. Two buttons (Repair and Clear Cache) that make life super easy when something breaks.
More Features
  • Mini Mode: Don't wanna see the news? Just switch to the Mini Mode. (It will even remember your setting)
  • News: The latest Eternal-WoW! News post shows up on the front of the launcher. This way we can keep you up to date on the latest things we are doing.
  • Quick Buttons: Hate having to open a web browser and then click a bookmark? Just hit one of these quick buttons and it will open the destination in your favorite web browser.
  • RealmList Management: Manage as many realm lists and versions of wow as you want!

UPDATE!

I just released version 2.0.2. This version fixes several problems. A potential integer overflow, division by zero, and fixes Windows XP builds, This version also requires .NET v4.0. The updater will automatically install it if it is not present.

Looks good and works fine for me =)

The only issue I have with it is that it doesn't save custom Realm Lists when you update to a newer version.

One launcher to rule them all.

I've never bothered to use a launcher before, but this thing is sweet.

I love the multiple client function. This way I only need one icon for both 2.4.3 and 3.3.5 realms. Nice work.

Are you running on Windows XP?

Probably not. Not anywhere in the foreseeable future. The demand just isn't there very much :/ Although I may at some point.

UPDATE!

I just released version 2.0.2. This version fixes several problems. A potential integer overflow, division by zero, and fixes Windows XP builds.

Is there a way to make it really close when I exit? I don't want it minimized.

You can right click the application down at the right corner (or if it's in the taskbar) and select "Exit".

Uh, yea but that doesn't address the issue (close on exit, not minimize).

No there isn't any way it needs to be coded in. You can add suggestions at the bottom of the forum down at the bug tracking section of the forum for the launcher.

It's probably awesome to use and I'm looking forward to be using it, but I can't seem to download it as it cancels after I click "Download the new launcher". I'm in XP x32 SP3 is that help, but I see you've updated the launcher, hehe.

What to do now? :D

Windows XP may require you to uninstall/reinstall after the 2.0.2 update since we switched to .NET Framework version 4.

Is there any version wich doesn't require .NET 4.0? It is not avaible to wine, though I would really love to use the launcher. Great Work!

I don't know what would use 2GB. The program itself is < 1 MB. The .NET framework is smaller than 2GB. Much smaller. I think its like 20MB tops.

It's possible it wants some space for caching compiled versions of the .NET data.
