Update 2/7/11 5:15pm:
Event Trinkets and Transformation Scrolls reworked again and uploaded to the PTR. Make sure you exit WoW and delete your CACHE folder to see the new changes!

Update 2/5/11 9:41pm:
One of our devs, Whitefang, has taken the liberty of attempting to fix the Sons of Hodir quest chain. It would be sincerely appreciated if this chain could be tested while the PTR is still online. Thank you.

Update 2/5/11 8:44pm:
After spending all day researching and tweaking, the new Event Trinkets are finished and live on the PTR.
Make sure you exit WoW and delete your CACHE folder to see the new changes! This is done easily with the "Erase Cache" button on our Eternal-WoW Launcher.

Update 2/4/11 2:19am:
  • Testing on the PTR has allowed me to find the screen freezing/crashing issue when fighting Lord Marrowgar. A fix has been applied to Redemption to prevent these client crashes.
  • It appears as though Deathbringer's loot (from the cache that he spawns after death) is working well on the PTR. I expect this update to go live in the next few days. I'll see if I can figure out the new event trinket reconfiguration before then.
Note: Post a comment about your thoughts on the Transformation Scrolls. The transformation is not a visible buff that can be removed at will, but it will disappear on death.

Update 2/4/11 8:19pm:
  • Death Knight quest chain should be fixed now
  • Trinkets returned to development based on player input
  • Transformation scrolls under review. I'll try to get transformations that have a visible, removable buff

In order to facilitate a smooth transition to the live realms while testing the newest update, the PTR realm is now open for testing. Full Wrathful/Tier 10, and anything else needed for grab-n-go testing is available for free on GM Island, which is where all newly created characters will start (except Death Knights - see below).

The following things need to be checked, and I would appreciate your opinions/bug reports in the form of tickets while on the PTR realm:

  • Lord Marrowgar's client crash issue fixed in all difficulties
  • Deathbringer Saurfang's loot cache gives loot
  • The new Event trinkets/scrolls on the Consigliere in the Event Chamber are to everyone's liking (found on the teleporter - Events > Event Chamber)
  • Verify that all Redemption-like entities are working - no spells/items are missing from trainers or vendors.
  • The Death Knight quest chain is smooth from beginning to end
  • Anything else you notice bugged, make a ticket and I'll review it before the update goes live

Reminder: As this is a PTR (Public Test Realm), gear, professions, skills, reputation, and anything else done on this realm will not transfer over to live.

don't want to QQ here but when will there be more fixes in icc on redemption? Cauze last update was actually a rollback to previous bugs and with some new bugs.. like fester on 25man, saurfang no loot on 10-10hc-25...
redemption is actually losing online players if you look @ online players before last few updates, it's just covered up by the new players on remorse...
also on 10hc rotface (and fester) is almost impossible, we don't even get hime passed 50% with full geared people, maybey it would be possible if we keep trying and dps race him with a lot of luck and a lot of free time to whipe... since icc is main raid on redemption this should be the priority to fix.. for example all updates are going about bosses who are working but had little bugs, and updates only made it worse... lot of people are waiting for BQ gunship and dreamwalker fixes and eventually lich king, I know the last one would be to soon... Also toc is only partially working, when you arrive @ valkyrs you are doomed, and that with a raid with people who are realm first on rotface and fester in icc25... don't get me wrong, I love this server and redemption, but we should be improving here... I know eternal had a lot to deal with the last months but this should be a reason to surprise everybody with purchasing the status of best private server, you have the possibilities and the people to do it, so why not taking that chance.. don't let the players down eternal... I know this all sounds very negative but just want to say my opinion about what is going on for the moment... anyway thanks for this great server, let's make it the best one now ;)

Any change of PTR Realm status (online/offline) makes me disconnect from Remorse. I am the only person to have this problem and that's because I fucked up my WoW. And ofc this is happening because of the PTR patch. Know any fix besides reinstalling WoW?

hoi,

Just an question. I have looked to other server, who have an 4.0.3 sever. I played on it. My opinion is that it all is PVP. That's NOT NICE. Because if you are not in an guild and walking with the guild members, you will be instandly killed. Just for fun. So my Q: Is Cataclysm on this server also comes out in een PVE version? Would be nice.Pls give me an answer if possible.:P:P

1. First of all, I'd like to say something about new 'Essences'.
DPS TRINKET
Threat?DPS main purpose is to make dps as high as possible not to care about threat(yes u have to care abut threat but it's not your main purpose). Your new Essence of the Assassin & Essence of the Invoker are supposed to lower your threat, but I really don't think that an 'uber' donator trinket should include a 'stat' like this. It should be something u'd recognize in ur dps. And believe me, nobody will prefer this trinket over any other melee dps trinket(277/284 ilvl), cuz they assure u higher dps.(yes, some ppl will, don't wanna be rude).
Hit rating is again a useless stat, cuz it's not hard to cap it at all by using set/offset. Why should a dk have 350 hit+ if his hit cap is 263? This will only help ppl with dualwield but I really think they don't have any problems with capping specials(u don't wanna cap non-special attacks) and I also think they would prefer more of any dps stat over hit rating.
Armor penetration is again not so well picked stat. There are already 2 top trinkets with armor penetration(277 & 284ilvl) so why 3rd one? Muti rogues, hunters, retri palas, dks, shammys don't benefit so great from this stat. U should make a trinket with AP/str/agi instead of this one.
Blue socket? Blue socket is considered one of the worst dps sockets ever. Red one would do the trick...
HEALER TRINKET
10 min cd? Is the main purpose to avoid using this trinket in arenas? If so then good job here.
What is the main purpose of 'Causes 3 arcane dmg to attackers' ? Who should attack u? And what is it good for? To make more threat? Nice ;)
PROT TRINKET
Taunt?Is it just a simple taunt or does it really make an additional threat?(simple taunt just copy the highest threat of the target). Not sure how it works(ICD) but taunt shares a DR with itself and if so then I don't think it's a good idea not able to taunt if necessary.
Exp rating is simply too high. It's a good stat for a tank but honestly I would prefer 100 stamina/100 exp rating for example.

2. The second thing is how to get there with a dk?

I have only one problem with what fecker said. XP is very good, and it shows that server is not desperate for levels money, like all the others. That's why i stayed on this server, dunno about others.

Our guild did this a week ago on heroic with no problems, guess we had really good healers. To be honest though I kinda wiped the raid at about 10% blowing the floor up prematurely with global thermal sapper charge(who knew?).
Our issue with toc was any faction champions with a warrior in it, ftw.

Ofc it's not fixed on Redemption, these fixes are on the ptr realm waiting to be applied to the live Redemption server.

Unfortunately I cant fit every issue I find in a ticket, so here's what I've found so far without having a chance to enter Icc.

Disguises - are they permanent? because I can't get one off me. Other players can put these on me >.< These I can see being a real issue as there isn't a buff associated with it, so there's nothing to right click to get rid of it.

Event trinket - I'm focusing on the tank trinket, Essence of the aegis. This is definitely the best tank trinket in the game, period. Maybe even the best pvp trinket for melee. Unfortunately I won't be wearing it on any fight where tanks need to swap, because random taunts from a chance on hit proc are just bad. I can see why you did it though, to keep the dps's hands off it, but I'd sooner see it be a usage with like a 1 or 2 minute cooldown. And the flare, I've had a stack of the engineering ones in my bags for months, and haven't used one. That said, I really don't have a suggestion other than making the taunt the use with a 1 or 2 minute cool down and removing the flare and the expertise(or some of it) to compensate. Love the stamina and armor tho, going to start saving shards now.

Hopefully people stop pvping on gm isle long enough to make a raid and test Icc today. Thanks for the awesome work.

Some issues I have experienced on Redemption previously that may need looked into - Completing a random dungeon doesn't grant the reward upon completing the dungeon(frosts,gold).
Ravenholdt rep xD "junkboxes needed" only completable by rogues, probably low priority but I really want to get exalted :D

heya...i want to say that all work u do there is exelent...keep that and we will be the best private server ..
i know is hard fix all of that but from day to day,its geting better...

i want to show u 1 more bug after last update.....Random Dungeon Finder dont give on the end EOF...so try fix that..

Why are the trinkets so lame stats-wise ? There are no good melee PVP trinkets , all of them are pve
I want to see a str or agi or even AP trinket out here instead of taunt shits that those trinkets have , not everyone plays pve

The goal of the trinkets is to have one effective PvP trinket and one effective PvE trinket (one for each PvE role). Not everyone plays PvP.

Either way , if you could i would like to see a better dps trinket , not just for pvp but for pve as well
the trinkets you've made atm are not most likely best replace for the trinkets you can get in ICC
My suggestion to you is to remake Essence of assassin ( since its only viable melee dps trinket ) removing arp ( not everyone wants this add , therefore most of the melee classes are missing a event reward trinket which should replace the trinkets they're using atm ) and adding ap ( since both str and agi classes gains benefit from this ) or adding a reasonable amount of strenght and agility on the same trinket

Also just saying , i do not think adding "Transformation" scrolls in this game would make it better
perhaps some people think its cool to run around transformed but think about it
its event reward ( events are every day ) which means you can buy 20 scrolls of transformation every day
there will be shitload of people running around transformed in something which would really not help the server imo , it would end up making the whole server into "fun server" if you ask me , and most of the people are looking for "blizzlike servers" , hidden effects from these essence trinkets are more then enough
( Perhaps adding this into item store under VIP ( donor ) items would be better , not everyone would run around transformed into who knows what )

I personally don't care about trinkets but I did test ICC earlier today. Besides I disagree with the trinkets anyway and the above posters because Armor Penetration benefits everyone greatly BUT Retribution paladins. If it wasn't a great stat, high end raids wouldn't have come so heavily geared with it as a stat. And to the person that said hit rating is a useless stat, you are a useless waste of space.

And DBW, is a 1/3 chance of being good for just about everyone but Death Knights/Warriors/Paladins because every other melee class benefits way more from agility, and DBW only being useful to the three aforementioned classes for the 1k attack power buff or the 600 critical rating, while Hunters/Enhancement Shamans/Rogues/Feral druids all benefit from it just a bit more. If anything the new trinket should come with ArP or some static Attack Power with a bonus to the classes highest stat i.e. buffed Greatness trinket, that instead of 300, it goes for 600 or so, because THAT would make DBW Heroic look fail. It would make it the second or third BiS(best in slot). I'd personally love a 600 agility/strength buff every 45 seconds versus 1,000 Ap or 600 crit rating.

-The greatness card only sucked for casters since intellect doesn't directly transfer into spell power so if you were to copy the greatness card for an event trinket, it should take a percentage of said casters intellect and turn it into spell power.

-All melee dps would benefit from a static AP trinket with greatness type effects however.

-Healing would work the same as dps caster trinket would

-tanking trinket could give a passive Stam increase or Armor Increase with a proc that increases dodge or parry or even increases resistances in the way the Warlock talent "Nether Protection" does

Couldn't even get past him due to frequent DCs, if you want us to test him, make it possible for us to go past him if he isn't working. He was fine before the update on PTR, so I'm not sure how you accomplished messing up further. Pre-update you could treat him like a normal mob i.e. silencing/stunning/interrupting/death grips, after the update.... None of this was fixed and now he frequent disconnects, his phasing isn't perfect but it isn't game breaking either.

One thing is certain.. i wont buy any of the trinkets for my hunter..
also since remorse launch some of the items on redemption have there description messed up.
and noone will buy them if they arent an improvement compared with what they have ingame.

Wouldn't that defeat the purpose of testing him? "Frequent DCs", to me, could mean that your internet connection is dropping, as the PTR realm has yet to crash. The more specific you are with the issue, the better I'm able to fix it.

The opinion seems ubiquitous to buff the PTR trinkets to something that would literally replace one of the best trinkets in the game. Last Halloween when these trinkets were made, this was actually the plan, but I was afraid I would make them too "OP", as it were. While I have no intention of removing hit/expertise ratings, as these stats are extremely helpful in a PvE setting (especially against boss mobs who are level 83), I will re-think the special abilities and try to find a happy medium. I'll update this news post when I make these changes so you guys can let me know what you think of the difference.

Thank you to those of you who gave me input on the Death Knight quest chain. I was able to seek and destroy some ugly bugs to make things smooth again.

Rly? what about UH dks ? what about beast/surv Hunters? What about enha shammys?

Haste and crit are shit procs for a DK and I dunno where u took those numbers from but let me correct u.

Anyway as for a dk, DBW proc is >> STC proc.
BOK buffed= 700str*1.1*1.03*1.04*1.15*2=1897.1 AP >> 1472ap.....
Just want to say I prefer STR over AP proc/passive stat. And there are many classes that benefit more from str than from AP.
