I'm proud to announce that your donations have allowed us to purchase new hardware for the realms! We've just finished the install of our brand new server machine:

*** Dual*6 Core Xeon x5680 3GHz (24 cores with hyperthreading),
*** 6*300GB SAS 15k Raid 10,
*** 32GB ECC 1333MHz RAM,
*** Redundant Gigabit NIC cards and Power Supplies
:shock::shock::shock::shock:
In practical terms, this upgrade will remove our current per-realm cap of 550 players, it will irradicate our lag problems on weekends when we are hitting our current machine's limits, and it will provide plenty of headroom for tons of future growth! This is a huge step for us, and just in time for our 1st Anniversary Celebration!

Thanks especially to our donors - without whom this and all good things we bring to Eternal would not be possible, and to HeXagon, our resident Linux Guru, who is physically installing and configuring the box.

And a note on other developments. We've been hiring devs to help increase the rate at fixing bugs on the realms, and new malls are coming soon, courtesy of Fate and Brian!
