yes my bad I didnt read this at all

Ok so if u are online atm anyway I like to ask u one more thing, in a nice and kindly behavior type of style filled with joy being able to play here :D sry again

ok.....just for my own understanding so I know what will happen and can think about these options for donored essences...

If I just keep the 60% trinkets although I donored them, nothing else will happen , just the cutted stats right? no offense I am german and I still have to learn perfect english :D #

Ok and the second question then i should be happy again..

If I decide to exchange trinkets back to 35 vip points, do I have to use it on the toon donored for the trinket or can I use them on the account this toon actually is?

thx for ur patience with me dear eternal staff :D

In bold this time...

Donors will have the option to have their 35 points refunded to use on other items in the online store

and yes the stats are reduced to 60% of what is currently on live.

Re: Upcoming changes!

#88 by Elvellon » Wed Oct 12, 2011 5:48 pm

Coming from that other (M..) server. I spent a little over a $1000 in donations between me and my friends toons. I didn't have the time to grind or quest but I did have a day job to pay for gear. I'll be honest I didn't donate because I like the server.. I donated because I wanted to be OP (I'm sure i'm not the only one too). I was slowly getting bored of my Alliance toon so decided to try a horde. My friends suggested I try Eternal since they had cheaper items and some custom donation only stuff which would up my dps. Plus its a PVE server people shouldn't be complaining.. I'd only be helping them kill mobs faster.
So now I have a dliemma..
Stay on this server with
-Trinkets being nerfed This WAS eyecandy to any donor
-Cheap Non-fully functional Shadowmourne Buff/debuff don't work
-All tradeskills I love this option
-Custom events/rewards great when you can attend.. i couldn't
-Teleport gates Honestly i hate them.. might as well turn off airships/boats and flightmasters

When I saw that announcement yesterday.. I have to admit I wasn't too happy. After finding a server and being content with my toon. I feel the need to find something better or go back to the other server since all i really have now is just a toon with all tradeskills .. and an ugly custom tabard LOL. I think the reason why people buy from cash shops(retail/private) also is to be Unique.

Why can't you have both versions of the trinkets? Allow people to win the prenerfed trinkets via GM events. Plan the events days/weeks before it happens so people can't complain that they didn't know or weren't online. The trinkets are unique so you won't have the same previous winners joining the events over and over. Nerfed version will be rewarded as the system implemented this 14th.

I don't mind the new events, daily event quest and all the other stuff it all seems pretty good . But when it comes to the Nerfed Trinkets I would love to have the option to get my used shards on em back. Why because they will simply be off no use to me with 60% less stats. Maybe put in a quest for a week where we can trade the Nerfef Trinkets for 40 of the new event currency.

I have also notice some other's servers making event's now as to recruit some of our current members, some of these servers actually got LK working in them. I am wondering whats going on with development in the Redemption server. I think the community & raids here in this server are probably some of the best I have experienced. But it would be a shame if more of our raiders keep leaving for other servers because it seems our server go stuck.

That's all I want to say or done differently... but the development of Redemption haves become a big issue lately, its great you are working on events again and a new event system, but please don't forget about the other instances/raids that still need fixes please.

Thanks for your time have a nice day!

This is the coolest thing i ever seen since i started playing WoW several years ago. Really, great job guys, and i don't know what else to say because there is nothing else to add, this is just perfect :D.

And on another topic i have a problem. I have the 2 trinkets from the last year halloween event but now they are not working.

You see what those trinkets should do, but they aren't doing anything like that at all. And now i have 2 questions. Can i have my 2 trinkets changed to Essence of the Assassin and Essence of the Immortal?
And the second question, if you change my trinkets, will my new trinkets be nerfed too or they will remain the same?

This will be taken care of the 14th.

Your 2 trinkets will be removed and the new ones will be given accordingly.

Further instructions to help ease the transition will be posted on the 14th.

Since my question wasnt answered Ill ask again.

I earned my trinket during Halloween, however when presented with the option to swap mine out for the one that does NOT require a macro to use, I jumped on the opportunity. Will mine be nerfed to the same status as everyone elses? Or will it be cut down to 60% like everyone else who has the old ones.

I think some people are missing the point here, which is BALANCE

The purpose of this change (trinkets) is balancing the players' damage, survivability and overall raid value as well as PvP performance, the current trinkets give about the same stats as a 1-hander weapon, taking up only a trinket slot, making the owners very overpowered when compared to others

For those saying "it's a PvE realm so it doesn't matter" let me clarify one thing, the ONLY difference between a PvP and PvE realm is, that you can't go around killing random lowbies on the later as you can on the former, other than that both realms have RBGs and arenas

Yes, donors are what keeps the server running and yes, they should have a benefit from their donation, however what REALLY makes a server grow is the population. Imagine for a second that each and every single player who doesn't own noobmourne + all tradeskills + 2 OP trinkets leaves the server because they got sick of being unable to compete against those who do, that would leave about 50-70 persons per server whacking each other with oversized clubs, in the end it would become boring and the server would die. Foreseeing that, developers try to balance the game to try and have a more fair gaming enviroment for everyone, because a server with no population is a useless server

On the topic of new changes on event currency, sounds good, but i agree to the fact that 1:1 xchange is not really going to kick it if the new range goes up to 200, considering how hard it was to attain the shards on the first place, so a 1:2 would be a much better alternative

Looking forward for updates!

I dunno if the 1:1 trade ratio for old shards to new shards is fair. I currently have 36 shards meaning I'm a maximum of 2 events away from my trinket. Yet after the switch I will be 164 shards or like roughly 7 weeks away from trinket. How bout a little compensation? Maybe do a couple of events to let all the close people catch up?

Other than screwing over the people who were close to getting their upgraded trinkets I definitely appreciate this new system. It was a pain in the ass trying to enough time to be on WoW to be involved in every event a GM spontaneously started so you get a big thumbs up for fixing it  .

edit: Since the new price is 200 and the current value of a trinket is 40 the ratio should be 5 new shards to every 1 old shard.

I'd agree with a 1:2 ratio = old shards to new shards.

Bullshit, this doesnt change any of the real problems of the server, for example why dont u start working on rescripting ulduar or icc bosses? Why dont u fix not working dungeons and raids?
Why dont u reenable ioc?
From what ive seen on molten website they got icc fully scripted (only gunship battle not working), and ulduar too!

In a previous post, it was stated that the trinkets were only supposed to be given out to those who completed the previous halloween quest. It was also stated that the trinkets were later added to the VIP list to give people alternative ways to acquire the trinket. The fact that everyone, those willing and unwilling to donate, were able to get the same trinkets made it "fair." It doesnt matter if you didnt have the trinkets yet. Given enough time, every single player had the oppurtunity to get them in whatever manner that best suited their interests. Just because some players have them and others dont, doesn't make it unbalanced, since the players who don't have them would've gotten them eventally. The argument that the stats of the trinket are too overpowered when considering those that don't have them is also a bad way of looking at it, since the same can be compared to anyone just starting a raid vs someone who completed endgame content; or someone who just started pvp in deadly vs someone who invested the time and effort to get 2200 3v3/5v5 rated weapons and full wrathful. In both cases, the starters are already at a huge disadvantage even without custom items, but its acceptable because eventually they would acquire the same level of equipment. If you are "unable to compete" now, that may change later if you put in the same effort. The people who leave, aren't leaving because someone has le OP trinketzors. They are leaving because they didn't want to put in the same effort to get the same OP trinketzorz.

I dont accept any argument that this is for "balance," but I will accept the simple statement Mattmeck made:

Mattmeck1 wrote:The entire point is to make it so there are better trinket to be gotten in game.

These trinkets were never meant to be so easily gotten that everyone had one, and it was required for raids. They were also not meant to be the best trinkets in the game. People doing successful ICC raids should be able to get better.

If that was the original intent for Redemption, then so be it. I think its a silly nerf for those playing Eternal seeing as how you can't do any WoTLK instances, but hey, its not my server.

I am also concerned about this. I have 36 shards atm, and im wondering what to do with them. If new trinkets cost 200, and the ratio is 1:1 as stated then I may as well dump all my shards right now and get the +7 stats bags.... Can we get some kind of confirmation about the ratio of old to new shards/tokens, and also how much will the new trinkets/bags/etc cost?

I would like to know before the update, seeing as I will spend them now if its a better deal

What does changing some trinkets have to do with a different server than pays thousands of dollars to people to code for them?

I would try to hand you a clue... but I think it would get lost.
