I was able to finally successfully get our Internet link between our Netherlands and USA datacenters upgraded. It's now piping bandwidth between the locations at 100x the speed of before. What this means to you, our players, is no more of the frequent website database messages or missing info, and removal of the long delays waiting for the website to load (while it's collecting info from our USA databases).

It also allows us to move our logon server to Netherlands as has been planned for some time.

im all for making things smoother in the netherlands, but since this 'improvement' has happened my lattency has jumped from an average of 20-30ms to a very poor 200-250ms, i dont think id call this chage that your made server side a total success

I hope the connection will improve because the way it is now i can't stay logged in more then 15 minutes .
Not to mention the lag spikes that comes and goes.
And looks like eternal cant even stay online for now

In the last half hour, one of our realms crashed, the debugging program we use decided to start dumping gigabytes and gigabytes of data to disk, this was causing the lag you all just experienced in the last half hour.

I've restarted all the realms to clear out any issues.

Hey .. This has kinda affected the login server I guess coz I dont seem to be able to get in.. Any idea when this'll be resolved approx. ?

I really think that by doing this you have alienated everyone that does not play in the US

For example i live in Taiwan, and I have been playing on this server for months now without "too" much problem.

Ever since the "big" update (and im assuming that is when the change was made) I have a ping of 20k and and average ping of at least 400-700

makes the server basically unplayable for me now I can LOG IN fine but I cannot play.

Nothing with the game itself was changed, so any ping increase you experienced is completely coincidental. The game server is exactly where it was, and there is no way it was affected by this change.

Just wanted to let you know:

I tried connecting on a friend of mines connection, and another connection at my work.

I am getting the same problem - log into the server get into game and have 0ms ping

shortly after disconnection, can do the same thing over and over.


So its obviously NOT my internet connection (Maybe because I live in Taiwan)

But I have never experienced any problem until the last update.

I am on the same patch and using a very vanilla wow (no addons, extras, etc)

As of today our ping is ... HIGH
I log in ... nothing ... everything is fine ... 0 ping ?!
After 2 minutes ... 200+
After 5 minutes ... 700+
After 15 minutes ... 3k !

You might want to check that out and see if you can fix it somehow.

So I am not crazy! Other people are suffering from the same problems internationally.

its day 7 now, cannot even play any of the event quests or enjoy the new content because of this problem.

I have 100 ms (I live in Europe). It's not a server problem, it's a problem with you having low speed cables in your country. The only reason the majority here turns out to be people who lag is because the only people who come here to threads like this are here to complain (whether it's justified or not).

I'm pretty sure you'll lag from Taiwan no matter what kind of connection we have here, due to it being so far away from our server box.
