Redemption
- The Dungeon Finder was fixed and enabled
- A potential fix has been made to the "Dalaran Crashing" issue. This issue would only affect players who walked close to the center of Dalaran (or who Hearthstoned in). I'm not positive if it will work, but I managed to troubleshoot it down to something in the dead center of Dalaran that was causing the issue. Speaking of which, the Dalaran Fountain is now gone. Yeah.
- Port Men have been added to the outside of Icecrown Citadel and inside the Icecrown dungeon area (near PoS, FoS, and HoR)
- After continued supervision of the mail system, it appears that all is well. All players who were missing Donation and Vote items have been re-sent these items. We will continue to keep a close eye on the mail system to ensure that everything is working smoothly.
- The Sons of Hodir Quartermaster and Flight Master are now fixed to be seen in all player phases.
- Thanks to our Tech Admin Hexagon, multiple crash fixes have been patched into the server core that prevent some of the horrible lag we've seen over the last few days. While we still may occasionally have data center lag every once in a great while (which is identified by abnormally high latency upwards of 1000+ ms - not our fault), at least we have our side covered. These fixes have also effectively stabilized our realms into being able to be online for over 24 hours without a single crash (and we've seen them online for 2+ days since these fixes). Yay!
High Priority
These issues have been identified by our development staff as being high-priority, and they will be worked to be resolved as soon as possible:
- Instance lockouts. I've been deleting instance locks every day as part of my morning ritual, but I'd prefer a more solid fix. We'll look into it.
- Disable the bugged instances that the Dungeon Finder will invite groups to. Currently, Halls of Reflection and Trial of the Champion (both 5-man instances) aren't working at all, so you might as well deny any of those groups if they pop up until this is fixed.
- The missing NPCs on the Icecrown Airships (Skybreaker and Orgrim's Hammer). I have been successful with troubleshooting this issue, I'm just working out a reliable fix.
Custom Events
- A new event has been prepared by yours truly - The Ornery Staff event! Some of you already took part in it when I surprised the realms the other day. While I'm still playing with the details, it involves a massive raid-boss version of myself that rampages through Orgrimmar and Stormwind! I'm still playing with some fun spells to use to mess with you guys, and as you've already seen, I have a tendency to ignore threat and taunts
. For the time being this is an instant-win event (though you'll likely die at least once), and all participants are granted access to the Eternal Cache which gives a quest reward of 8x Shard of Eternal Victory! In the future I might have a mind to make it much more challenging, with the goal being to protect your city's leader from certain death. If you protect him and win, you are rewarded with event tokens. But if I kill him, I dissappear and let the other faction have a go at taking me down before their city leader is killed!
On the Horizon...
- I am very close to completing Eternal-WoW's first Welcome NPC. This NPC will be found where all new players start, and will contain detailed information on the exp rates, loot rates, reputation gains, etc. on each server, along with other useful information. Furthermore, the NPC will have the ability to teleport players instantly to Dalaran, which means no more running back to your main city for 3 hours on foot after using the ".start" command! Another feature I'm working out is a small starter quest that will reward new players with a starter package that has a decent-sized bag and some food for grinding levels a little faster, like Pumpkin Pie.
