Wintraders Beware!

#1 by GregariousJB » Sat Jul 30, 2011 9:59 pm

We're taking a strict stand against wintrading in arenas. Hundreds of teams have been disbanded, their members' arena points have been dropped to 0, and their Gladiator gear has been deleted permanently.

Get used to it, because we'll be doing this every week just before arena points get flushed, so even if wintraders do make a team and cheat the system, they'll have nothing to show for it.

Items, arena points, and teams will never be restored. If your team is legit and was deleted by mistake, then you'll be good enough to get your rating back. And this time, you won't be shoved off the scoreboard by people exploiting the system.

Also, 5v5's are being re-enabled for the time being.

If you purchased gear with VIP points, put a ticket in and the VIP items will be returned.

hi i would like to know how i can do a response telling why i never had done wintrade.
Poesia - redemption
my team mate is from holland and we can do arena at pick hours. i had 2 pieces of wrath (chest and legs) that took me long enough to get, my team rating never had passed over 1860 2v2 even that my mate is a donnor, and most of the ppls i fought can say that i never had done such a thing. all my wrath off pieces are from bg and my rele gear is from EOF more than 300 that took me a lot of effort to get. is a chame cause my win loose rating in that team is way high to let gm think i wintrade. u can ask most of high rating ppls that do arena from 2 to 6 server time that i always had fair battles.

sad that gms can do a serious work watching ppls doing wut they do and deleting the effort of 7 month playing in a correct way.

sorry, but the way u are doing this issue is a lack of serious work.
this make good players leave cause of lack of work well done.

7 month of work and u say u will get back wut u got, omg u think having time to play wow is soo easy

Now this is the story all about how My team got deleted, and my points set down.
Now take a minute just sit right there, I'll tell you how I wintraded and the GM's don't care.
In North Orgrimmar born and raised, in the arena is where I spent most of my days
Chilling out max and relaxin' all cool and swapping out who wins with some other fool
When a couple of SQL queries who were up to no good, started checking ratios that weren't so good
I got a bit to high rating and then Greg hit run query, It said "you're going down, win trading is silly".

Also, thread is unlocked, but warning, keep it civil or punitive actions will be taken.

There is only a handful of people that know exactly how we are doing this, and its staying that way.

The more people that know the easier someone will find a work around to do it again.

Regardless of the crying, there is zero chance the people effected were legit.

Only your gear gets caught up and if you are totally legit, you will have no doubt that this step was absolutlely necessary and you can get your gear again very quickly

For the People who dont know what means:

win-trader
Used to define a player in an Arena Team in the World of Warcraft game that co-operates with other teams to boost and/or maintain their ratings.

Ex.
Ilindinius is a well known win-trader on Bloodlust

So since i donated for full wrath what would happen if your method of finding win traders saw that since i only have a 1400 rating that OMG THEY HAVE FULL WRATH BANN and deletes all the wrath i donated for? It didn't happen, but i'm just wondering if it could happen or what would happen if it did.

Fair enough.
just keep in mind that sometimes legit teams are queued up against wintrader teams and get an instant win cause the wintrader team bails out. this happens fairly rarely tho
and also in legit matches sometimes a team member will quit after his team mate gets killed or gets a dc

just saying cause some people are claiming to have been falsely accused.

I have recently noticed going into arenas and only being against 1 person who ends up leaving well cuz they had no partner. Also there was another time which was incredibly weird how we got queued anddd we were put in a match against no one. like no one. lol the match started and ended and i was extremely confused. i wanted to fight something :(

I have a feeling that the staff will be paying enough attention that this will not happen. Also there is a log in your account page that shows which items you have purchased on the reward store, via vote points or donation. So if by some chance it did happen, it's easy enough to get the staff to check this and restore anything that should not have been deleted. But again, it's not likely to happen as the staff here do pay attention to details such as this.

LOOOOL . ZERO CHANCE YOU SAY ?!?!?!?!?!? All my gear was gotten through random BG's ..i got my honor points for equip there and i got arena points (every day 25 for first win) there.. I joined arena team and only played 5 matches where 2x i won and 3x i lost. I never cheated and if you say that your system is so good that there is ZERO CHANCE for me to be legit, then you realy need to spend more time playing wow so you will at least know what you need for which piece of equip and all the ways you can get it . And that we will get it back if we are good enough.......argh...We ARE good enough, but to play BG's for 4 months or much more AGAIN just to equip back 1 CHAR so that you will delete it again ?!?!?!? Isn't that a bit stupid ?
The way you handled this just is not right and its not smart way to do it. Whoever says it is ....well... i wont even begin to write about that.
Have a nice day and i hope you get reasonable anyday soon.....
