Realm failing? Some suggestions?

#1 by KnitWit » Fri Jan 13, 2012 8:08 am

Seems like the realm population is on an overall decline.
It's small enough that the viability of the realm comes into question (at least, I'm wondering as to it's viability).
For the AH to function well, there's some minimum population we don't seem to have.

Suggestion (because I love this realm)
1: Combine chat and AH for both factions (every AH is "neutral"),
2: Allow combined party/raid capability for non-pvp-flagged chars of both factions. I have no problem buffing Horde chars, nor partying/chatting with them.
3: If possible, revert to "blizzlike" on point 2 for Northrend only.

4: Put something in the Vote Store, so I have something I'd like to vote for! Examples:
4.1: Materials: Ore, leather, cloth, herbs
4.2: Buffs: (not free like Redemption etc, bought with vote points).

This suggestion is for "until the population climbs to 'viable'".
Life is complex: It has both real and imaginary components.

I disagree! Even to there are only 70-80 max hordes active we have our ppl to raid whit. 10 mans for now. Horde ah ain't that bad either. Chat, well chat is calm and "troll" free since it was separated by the ally one. It is ure bad u pick to play ally u should already know that on PvE realms hordes are way more, no matter on what PvE realm u play on. The realm is GOOD as it is, u wanna see more ppl? roll horde. PvE realm can exist whit only 1 faction! Implementing ure suggestions would make it a NON blizzlike server, when "we" asked for a blizzlike one! Population will never be as high as it is on redemption or eternal 'cus little kids and lazy ppl, ninjas will never get to 80.

I don't have anything against you i just like the server as it is. A simple opinion.

I agree with Oxhorne, keep the server as it is now, I find it perfect and definitely blizzlike. All this server needs is more population to make it go from great to awesome, not little custom gimmicks to ruin the blizzlike experience. Yes there is usually more Horde on Eternal-WoW servers and the Horde faction seems to focus more on PvE than PvP (on PvE realms). But the difference in population is very minimal (maybe only a 100 or 200 player difference for example on Redemption). Besides currently right now on Genesis there is like only a 10 player difference between the two factions (when I come on theres usually like 75 alliance to 85 horde), this difference is so insignificant.

Anyways a general rule of thumb is (well my experience from Redemption is anyways)
Alliance = PvP faction
Horde = PvE faction

But of course there are exceptions to these trends (there are good pvpers on horde and you can pve on alliance)

However if you don't want reroll to horde you should know that I and several of my guildmates/friends from Redemption have made a new alliance guild and plan to progress through the content the way the game was meant to be played. Feel free to join us if you wish, we just made it yesterday though and are still going through the leveling process (I myself am lvl 15 currently) but when we are 80 we will be raiding on Genesis and we will get stuff done as we are all experienced ICC raiders from Redemption. To anyone on Genesis who wishes to join please contact me in game, my name is Umbravir.

The player average player count is increasing not declining.

We were asked by many players to separate horde / alliance chat.

We have been asked by many players to NOT add materials, buff, gear or anything like that to vote or VIP.

The rest are so far away from Blizz-like they will never happen.

Leave as is please. Maybe way down the line adding Heirlooms for players that already have level 80 characters but that would be about all I'd like to see if anything at a much later time.

Spank me if I'm wrong, I haven't been to Dalaran to check, but you can buy heirlooms in Dalaran for Justice Points or Champion's Seals.

The server is just new, granted it may not have too many ppl on it compared to the other realms, due to the fact ppl don't want to do things "blizzlike" it will still increase, ppl will want to revert back soon, just keep an eye on it if your really concerned :D

I know i've already posted this in the forum, but it's my personal opinion that more people would join private servers like eternal-wow if the classes themselves aren't bugged...

We have less bugs than most servers out there, and the same as others.

Nobody has more fixed than us.

Heirlooms through vote points on the sever would be nice. 2x isn't that much of a boost and leveling still takes forever, that's the reason I haven't really gotten on yet.

This server requires HARD WORK and TIME INVESTMENT. I am glad leveling takes longer, it makes me personally feel more accomplished for each level I gain. Since leveling does take longer here it increases the chance that people know how to play their class (unlike Redemption where you can be level 80 and know nothing about your class, which leads to a bunch of retards in ICC). This BLIZZLIKE server discourages lazy people, idiots, and ninjas from joining since it actually takes some time and effort to get to 80 here (I'm not saying there won't be retards here, but so far I have yet to encounter one, so thats good).

This server is perfect as is for people who like CHALLENGES in their gaming experience and don't mind investing time or progressing through content instead of going straight to ICC. If you want to be spoonfed experience and gear because you're a more casual player/lazy please go play on Redemption, this is not the server for you.

It starts with voting for heirlooms, then it becomes voting for items, finally people want to donate for advantageous items. I am going to nip this in the bud now. Either be patient and learn how to earn your WoW stuff or go play Redemption.

I really wonder how old are u and how well u understand what a "blizzlike" server is.
We discussed this back and forth, seriously just read all the posts before saying stupid things like this again.

Re: Realm growing!

Anyone else notice an increase, especially (obviously) in the evenings? I've only been on the server 2-3 weeks now, but I'm seeing it. My wife points at when major cities are more active, and while me head is down while I powerlevel to 55 for the DK to open up, she appears to be right.

Also, I just bought my Reins of the Ancient Frostsaber today. Woot!

If only enough people in my level range would queue in the RDF, I'd be a happy healing Priest... ;)

Grats on Frostsaber, got mine a few days ago :P
