I was attempting to farm Iridescent Pearls for tailoring mats (to make Spidersilk Boots, lvl 19). Somewhat irrelevant at this point since I've completely out leveled them....

According to Wowhead, they should be in the loot table for Thick-Shelled Clams, so I farmed the clams from the Murlocs on the coast in Hillsbrad. Instead of finding Iridescent Pearls, I looted three Blue Pearls -- wrong loot table. BPs are only in Giant Clams found in Blackfathom Deeps or The Vile Reef (again, according to Wowhead).

Others in world chat said that they have looted Iridescent Pearls (from Big Mouth Clams, in lvl 40ish areas) -- can the loot table be confirmed/fixed so that they are obtainable from Thick-Shelled Clams too? Thanks.

Confirmed Wrong Loot drop.


Supposedly, Item: Blue Pearl should only drop from Item: Giant Clam.

Instead, Item: Blue Pearl also drops from Item: Thick-shelled Clam.
