IMO dissable the mute announcer as it usually entices others to spam as well

seriously, hasent anyone realized that as soon as a gm mutes someone eeeevery other kid spammer comes out of their hideouts
how many rogues does it take to gank a paladin?

2.

one to gank him and the other to wait at the inn.

The merkat family! I would like you, if you would see this vid, to replace the word "merkat" with the word "gm".
The adult ones are Cypher & Matt. The little, cute ones are the gm's. <3 merkats.

And then you have ....

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=L9GeUzyWRBk&feature=related

The common troll douchebags that should be kicked in their tiny little nut sacks. Should be pretty easy to do. Once you mute/ban the dick in the middle, the sacks can be found standing right next to him. Yes, they come in packs of 3.... with a leader!

Wall of text inc.

On another note ----- I would like express that gm harresement is not the bigger issue, if compared to player harrasement. I'll use the PTR example here. A SHIT load of griefers, trolls, bug abusers AND hackers played on that server because they thought they could not get banned (No PTR at the report player section) so they went all out. You'd think they'd duke it all out there and then, and be at peace on Eternal and Redemption but nooooo. I leave the PTR due to the faggots, go on Eternal and 10 mins later, same guy with the same name does the same shit. And he does it because he got away with it once or twice. It is true that harrasement has become a big issue on your realms Eternal-WoW, but it is also true the gm's being harrased are a minority among all the players that are harrased by other players on a daily basis - and some simply don't know how to deal with it and then they grow to hate the gm's, dev's and those in charge of the server.

P.S : Here's how it works as it is now -

#include <iostream>
using namespace std;
int main()
{
int ShortMute=0, SumOfTrolls=0, NumberOfMutes; // ShortMute = 15min to 5h.
cout <<"Insert number of mutes : "; cin >> NumberOfMutes;
cout << endl;
for (unsigned int i=0; i<NumberOfMutes; i++)
{
ShortMute=ShortMute+1;
SumOfTrolls=ShortMute+i;
}
cout <<"Sum of trolls after all mutes : "<< SumOfTrolls
<< endl;

system("pause");
return 0;
}

I say lay down the banhammer on repeated offenders. Keep track of an accounts offenses. First major infraction, 1 day ban. Second infraction, 1 week ban. Third infraction, suspend the account indefinitely, and delete the characters. And perhaps block out the IP address. Like I saw yesterday, someone gets supsended, and creates a second account to log into the world channel and continue talking.

well i would like to suggest that you put a announcement on the auto broadcast on every realm that states anyone staff bashing will be banned for a week and the inappropriate a day ban where minor spam in mutes because i know i enjoy redemption but the spam and staff bashing kinda makes me want to quit the server WHICH I DONT WANT TO DO! this is a suggestion i hope it can be taken as a Good IDEA maybe it can be implemented

-- Sun Jul 17, 2011 11:06 pm --

well my post is after yours but i totally agree your idea and mine would be awesome

hey moochiex i cant remember if it was you or another gm but i had help and was grateful i also want to say keep up the great work on the spammers i agree 1 can be let slide but it only takes 1 pebble to start a avalanche the increasing of penalty is good idea the other thing is maybe make a auto broadcast that says bans will be implemented might work too such as repeats will ban IP address
Moochie wrote:Im the quiet one in the GM family, but i will say this, iv not quit.

Well im gonna say more not just that little speech, but yes with a-bombs, if i see just one random person do it only once, i might let it slide, as a mute on the person brings on more, however saying that, iv ignored it once and it can go on for hours after the first mute, there was a day on redemption where i wnet through 24 people muting them all for 48hours each, i got feed up with the warnings given, then the 5hour mutes were never enough for them as they started it straight after that. I warned the whole server about me changing the mutes they got, and the majority agreed with me.

Events, yes i have done alot of events since i have been allowed to do the events, i even got told while sat in teamspeak randomly, and i quote to the best of my knowledge, "Great job on the events on eternal, iv gained more shards in this past few days than the entire 6months of playing", please a higher rank than myself tell me if im doing wrong or right with trying to give 2 events a day every day if possible to each realm?
There is however just 2 exceptions to events, exile being one of them, as there is not too many players on there to do major events like redemption and eternal, however there is enough on at times where i can do events like ruin, little hide n seeks, or chase the animal looking GM.
Also there is remorse, yes its a big part of the community like redemption and eternal, there isnt many events we can hold there, any of us can do a hide n seek, collect and deliver, or even a BASH the GM you keep seeing posted in the shout box, but will there get too common and become boring?

Iv gone on far too long for this hour of the morning, and im gonna go say hi to the staff and possibly go bed, untill morning Eternal-WoW, i bid thee fair well.

Yeah maybe that would not happen if the staff was more mature...I get the feeling half of them are underaged.

I cant even get to the event due to the lack of power in my laptop, i lag way to hard to join in, and deffinetly have no chance of getting a shard at all, if i was able to actually play at the events id be greatful for what they give us.

Yeah, its all mostly about events and its not fair some people cant even participate bcuz of lag.. Also other people who havent even participate can just come and take shards at the end of event-.- What is point of making such events? Is it making server very laggy for couple hours? or just show us boss what will be down anywyay soon or later? I think you should make events shards obtainable for vote/vip points or something like that, it should fix a lot of problems..

Ban Him/her i have seen gms start a event then every one wold be spamming laaag or bad mouthing gm's saying just spawn boxes for shards and if gm's ont spawn these boxs people would just spam abuse at them :s you shoul just ban them for a week sort it all out and be done with it :whistle:

C'mon, can a little staff abuse can hurt? ( I SAID A LITTLE!) . It's not that bad, it only goes bad when little kids start RAGING.My solution would be banning them for 1d each time they start raging. Do this often and the small portion of the abuser will be gone.Hope this helps. This kind of thin was done on the other server where I was playing.

Yes, for me even some is bad. It's just in what context you are using your language. If it's feedback, your personal opinion (shouldn't go way off) or something like that, it is no problem at all. Everything else is just as bad and should be punished for.

Punishment never solves anything.. At all... If people are continuously bashing staff, THEY WANT A REACTION! Like I posted several times here already, just ignore the bastard who is pestering you. You let one kid get to you what happens? All the other kiddies eventually find out and repeat.. Like a bunch of fu*king monkeys. I'm disappointed in all the staff that couldn't figure this out by now, Ryuudan would have been proud :clap:

Just an interesting note-
Whenever someone is muted, banned, or kicked, there's a little tag with a reason, which is broadcast through the entire channel. It is part of the reaction that the ragers/trolls/whiners/abusers are looking for, because it gives them some recognition. It's the same thing as children being bratty for attention.

So what happens if you take away that satisfaction of having your name broadcasted through the entire server?

Also worth pointing out are the little quips that the GMs attach to the mutes/bans. While I understand the purpose, and that they can serve as an outlet for the GMs, it adds to that satisfaction because now on top of the GM having purposefully gone and banned/muted them, they also took the time to give them write them a message.

I would like to make two little suggestions that might help:
1. Make it so the bans/mutes don't get broadcast over the server, rather send the message only to the muted player. Yes, they still get attention, but it lessens the spam everyone else receives.
2. Make the messages more automated. Instead of the handwritten note from the GM, just make it a generic "Muted for spam" or "Banned for staff abuse." (Yes, I realize that makes it less fun for you guys, but it has its benefits.)

That being said, both staff and player abuse are NOT acceptable. So I would like to extend my gratitude to the plethora of players that are not abusive, and to GMs for not abusing their powers, and tell them I appreciate their work (it's a thankless job.)

Thank you, but I'm unworthy of the praise- most of this has been said earlier in the thread, I just reorganized and made it a little more clear. It is a problem that needs to be resolved though.

Offtopic: It really is a shame I play on the alliance side of things, as it seems that you run a fairly tight ship in the Nexus, something that I would appreciate. But what can you do.

OT:
- For 10 VIP, you can transfer your toon from Alliance to Horde.

Not only do you hop aboard our ship, but you also help out the server.

It's a win-win for everyone!
