Whenever i summon a pet (any of them)
it will not allow me to control them. The pet bar is greyed out.
I have tried making a macro to control the pet (aka attack, follow, stay, aggressive, defensive, passive as well as ALL of the pets abilities do not work).
I have also tried clearing my cashe, but when i log on other computers to play it still doesn't work, so i doubt it's my files.
I've tried reloading the UI, disabling addons, relogging etc etc.

I look forward to actually having use of my pet as without him, it makes soloing that much harder

This issue has been known for quite a while now, but Dj said that the fix is more than likely going to be in the big Update coming. Sadly, there isn't an ETA out for that yet.

meaning of course, people can open a topic discussing what itd be like? like the "expansion after cata" thread i found... "Pandaren are not going to be the next playable race, it's either going to be ogers and arakkoa or a new hero class"... then along comes MoP to shut him up... "***** what has this world come to?!?! PANDAS IN WOW????"... same guy at first expansion thread "omg i cant believe it! I CAN MAKE A PANDA!!!"

Nothing yet fix wise. The big updatepack still hasn't be released for us yet.

technically it is already fixed, just not implemented yet.

i am being able to control my pet, as in send him out to attack etc.

but i have 2 questions

1) all the pet abilities reset if the pet dies and i need to manually turn them on again - is this supposed to happen?
2) i cant tame a new pet, keeps saying <error> in the chat box.

Hello there,

As Gamingcheap stated, the bug is already fixed in the updatepack. But mastery is being a pain in the ass (litteraly) and is the whole reason the updatepack is being delayed. Until it has been fully worked out then the big updatepack should release.

Everything on the updatepack's post is subject to change and a larger changelog will also be written when we reach the release date... But I cannot make one yet just because of mastery being in the works.

I hope you enjoy your day and don't forget that the updatepack is being worked on countless of days, we will make sure it comes out and brings Ruin (and Damnation when the changes are made for that realm) get the fixes they deserve.

I have been told by some hunters that you cant tame a new pet when you have pets in the first three slots. Just stable them at a stable master or whatever they are called or move them to the 4th or 5th slot and you should be fine.

This glitch happened to me yesterday (as well as a friend of mine) and now all my pet skills are grayed out for all of my pets. Tried everything I could think of to fix it (Stable pets, killed pets, even tamed new pet) and nothing has had any effect. Really sucks to be a hunter with no pets.

Did anyone find anything that fixed it????

Yes, tame a pet, name it, then log out & in.

That did not work, the pet was silenced during the first boss in Sethekk Halls on heroic mode, the boss was killed and we instantly got teleported somewhere underground and were stuck, our pets abilities all greyed out, since then it has not been fixed.

Sadly this didn't fix it for me =( =( I tried a few variations of this just to make sure - no luck at all!! I sooo miss my pets!!!

If you had some pets left then you could fix it, guess you removed them all
aaaaand.. it works for new hunters
