Hi

I'm having some trouble with the cataclysm Ruin server.

I'm pretty much new here. I've played the instant 80, but I this would be my first copy of Cataclysm.

Here;s what I did;

I made a copy of my WotLK WoW file, saved it in Cataclysm/wow folder, ran it and left it to update. It downloaded and installed with no problems. Then I followed the rest of the instructions.

Download and paste the wow.exe file into the main folder.

Change the realmlist to: set Realmlist logon.eternal-wow.com

I restarted my computer, ran Wow cataclysm and...

It opens up the mini screen, I try to click play but the button is grey and then after about half a minute the screen says that there is no connection. I also tried running the other Launcher, but nothing happens.

I think it might be firewalls, but I'm not sure how to remove or bypass them. If anyone can help I would be ever so grateful, thank you in advance.

EDIT: I tried running it through the Wow.exe file, it doesn't open the mini window, instead it jumps to a black screen of a while and then just holds there. I then open Task manager only to find that the programme is not responding. Just as an extra heads up, thanks

Okay, just another update, I tried disabling firewalls (checked it on another sight), but no go.

Hey

I´d suggest you to re-download the game from our cata connection guide. It seems to me that you patched up the game too far and the pre-patched file doesn´t work in that case.

you shouldnt ever dissable your firewall unless you like spyware
